Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty removes excess skin and fat on the upper or lower eyelids. This procedure can be performed independently or combined with other cosmetic procedures. Upper Blepharoplasty is one of the most common procedures in the world to offer a more rejuvenated appearance of the face.
This surgery is usually performed under local anesthesia, using intravenous sedation. Sometimes it is necessary to apply general anesthesia, particularly if it is combined with other more complex procedures. Blepharoplasty is usually performed on an outpatient basis, although occasionally we prefer to monitor the patient overnight to better manage recovery, especially if performed in conjunction with other procedures. It is common for bruising and swelling to appear in the facial area, so it is recommended to treat with cold packs as soon as the surgery is finished. A follow-up postoperative visit is necessary during the next three to four days after surgery to remove the sutures.
