Z-plasty is performed for the correction of scars, with the aim of lengthening, reorienting and/or camouflaging the scar. When performed properly, the Z-plasty provides a significant cosmetic improvement to the existing scar.

Zetaplasty is relatively easy to perform and is a reliable scar correction procedure when the flaps are properly designed. It also does not require a significant amount of additional tissue to be removed to perform the procedure, which is particularly useful in areas with a limited amount of adjacent tissue available, such as the face.

The operation lasts between one and three hours. You can go home that same day as it is an outpatient surgery.
